Years of writing about interior design for magazines and newspapers, as well as four books about the subject,
has taught me how to highlight a room’s best features, arrange furniture for looks and comfort, hide infrequently-
used items yet keep them accessible, and display collections to their greatest advantage.
Depending upon condition, I’ll send items that no longer work for your home to charity shops, auction
houses or the dumpster and do the required paperwork. If it goes to a charity, you get the tax deduction.
I’ll find specific types of furniture—a big armoire to replace 25 plastic containers filled with sweaters, for example--
artwork, mirrors, rugs and accessories when desired.

should stay and what should go, and how to give new life to old outfits with accessories or reworking them with other
pieces. I’ll find the right destination for items that get the boot—charity, resale shop, trash—pack them up and deliver
